Obituary

Robert Macgregor Obituary Macgregor, Robert Horton, age 89, of Wayzata, died peacefully surrounded by loving family June 15, 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Hocking (Joey); twin brother, Donald Stewart and parents, Charles Herbert Donald and Edith Stewart Macgregor. He is survived by his daughters, Robin Macgregor, Dustin Macgregor (Richard Hannah) and Kippen Chermak (K.C.); son, Todd Macgregor (Laurie); grandchildren, Maren Macgregor-Hannah, Ryan and Jamie Macgregor, Grace, Charlie and Robbie Chermak.Bob graduated from Wayzata High School and attended the University of Minnesota before joining the army in WWII. He served as a Captain and Anti-Aircraft Artillery Instructor in the mountains of Garmisch-Partenkirchen on Germanys border. Bob was a founding member and first President of the Zuhrah Shrine Bagpipe Band. They wear the Macgregor tartan to this day. He was a co-founder of Lone Lake Ski club with a ski hill and clubhouse in Hopkins. He was a 50-year Mason, a longtime member of the Fox and Hounds Breakfast Club and a lifelong member of Wayzata Community Church.Bob served as President of the Minnetonka Aero modelers, a group of competitive fliers who flew their planes at the Maple Plain polo grounds. A unique individual all of his life, he was known by his hats, especially his plaid Scottish tam. Memorial service 4 PM Monday, June 21, 2010 at Wayzata Community Church, 125 E. Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata, 55391. Private interment Summit Park Cemetery, Wayzata. Memorials may be directed to N.C. Little Hospice, 7019 Lynmar Lane, Edina, 55435 or to Wayzata Community Church.
