Robert McKee Obituary Robert DeWitt McKee 91 passed away on February 27, 2022 at his winter home in Tonto Verde, AZ.
Bob was born to Gwendolyn and Harley McKee on November 8, 1930. He was united in marriage to Wanda Lee Hosie, they were married for 69 years. Together, they had 6 children, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Bob was a successful businessman who started working at Honeywell in his early twenties. Bob changed careers and began working for Minnesota Mutual Life Insurance Company. Bobs success was honored with a place on their Presidents Dozen and The Million Dollar Round Table for Life Sales. In 1969, he opened the McKee Insurance Agency specializing auto, home and business insurance.
Bob was a member of the Wayzata County Club. Bob was a longtime member of the Minneapolis SW Lions Club and honorably served as their President. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting and socializing with friends. Bob at one time even owned and piloted his own plane. He loved to tell stories and share jokes. Bob had many friends and loved to socialize with everyone he met.
Bob retired to his lake home in Pequot Lakes, MN on Lower Hay Lake with his wife Wanda. He filled up his days playing golf, boating, fishing and BBQs with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Susan; son, Steven; brother, Thomas and parents, Gwendolyn and Harley McKee.
Bob is survived by his wife, Wanda; children, Michael (Becky Wallace), Sheri (Wally) Shelstad, Judy and Laurie; grandchildren, Jeff, David, Kyle, Ryan, Steven, Brandon, Joey, Patrick and Mitchel; step sister, Kathy Teslow; daughter-in-law, Nina McKee and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 630 East Wayzata Boulevard, Wayzata, MN with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Holy Name Catholic Cemetery following the service.
