Robert Peterson Obituary Robert (Bob) Stanley Peterson, 88, of Maple Plain was born January 15, 1932 in Elk River, MN. Died peacefully with family by his side on October 21, 2020 in Mound, MN. He was in the loving care of Nurse Amy and the incredible staff in the Legacy at Harrison Bay Senior Living. He was blessed to have the special care, love and hugs from Nurse Elizabeth with Brighton Hospice. He was a 63 year resident of Maple Plain and was the proud owner of Flying B Ranch Longhorns. He is survived by his children, Kent, Kayla, Karla (Norm) and Kimla; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brothers, Dick and Ronnie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bev; parents, Samuel and Edith; brother, Russ; sisters, Marion, Chucky and Shirley. He was an extremely hard worker whether he was plumbing, farming, or raising his amazing Longhorns. He was a member of the Plumbers Union Local #15 for 60 years. He had been the Affiliate President of the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America. He loved animals big or small. BlackJack, his prize winning steer, held a very special place in his heart. He was thrilled to take his mom flying when he got his Private Pilots License. His dad declined and chose to keep his feet on the ground. He was a Minnesota Licensed Chauffeur in 1954-1955. He was most proud of his service in the U.S. Army during the Korean War 1950-1953. He enlisted even though he was discouraged due to being born with a club foot. When he was stationed in Alaska he was in the Ski Troopers and earned membership into the -50 Below Club. When stationed in Presidio Bay he was in the Honor Guard. A "Celebration of Life" will be held on July 31, 2021 from 1:00-4:00 at David Lee Funeral Home, Wayzata. Please bring your favorite stories, memories and smiles. He will be laid to rest at a later date with his parents at Springvale Baptist Church Cemetery, Isanti County.
