Colonel Ronald Eugene Beauchane October 31, 1931 - March 14, 2026, beloved husband, father, cousin, and grandfather, peacefully passed away at the age of 94 on March 14, 2026. Throughout his life Ron had an insatiable thirst for knowledge and was curious about the world around him. After graduating from North High School in Minneapolis, Ron went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Hamline University, as well as a master's degree in Economics from Northwestern. Ron proudly served his country in the Korean War (1951-1952). Due to his diligence and dedication, Ron rose to the rank of full Colonel in the Army. One of Ron's favorite ways to learn about the world was through travel. After a year in Japan on the Fulbright Hays Fellowship, Ron took his family on a two month around the world journey through southeast Asia, the middle east, and Europe. Ron and his devoted wife of 66 years, Joyce, wound up visiting over 80 countries and seven continents. Ron was also a lover of the arts. He loved live theatre, music, and all art forms. Ron enjoyed bringing his children and grandchildren to performances to share his love of the arts with them. Family was very important to Ron, right after Dad his favorite name was Bumpa.

Ron excelled in everything he put his mind to. He enjoyed genealogy, pottery, painting and was a published author. He spent years of his life tracing the Beauchane genealogy. Ron compiled his work and published a 603 page book. This book has become a valuable resource for Ron's cherished cousins, as well as future generations.

In addition to his military career, Ron was also a passionate teacher at Patrick Henry High School and the U of M, as well as a knowledgeable CPA.

Ron is remembered by his wife, Joyce; children, David (Jennifer), Annette Garaghty (Mike); grandchildren, Nicole Heitzman (Tom), Katherine Anderson (Everett), Katy (Derek), Emily, Andrea Hanson (Dan), Kaylea Miller, Jonah Miller (Rachel), and nine great-grandchildren.
