Sally Battaiola Obituary Died peacefully at home at the age of 83. Born on January 4, 1935 in St. Paul. Sally was employed by Cathedral of St. Paul and traveled to South Africa with the Catholic Aid Society before marrying her husband, John and raising her family. She also worked in the kitchens of Wayzata Public Schools. Sallys greatest joys in life revolved around her family; especially spending time spoiling her three grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, following MN sports teams and visiting the casino. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Sarah Doherty; sister, Maureen Dornfeld; brother, Jerry (Pat) Doherty; nephew, Craig Dornfeld and husband of 47 years, John. Sally is survived by daughter, Chris (Oster) and son-in-law, Jason; grandchildren Sadie, Lauren and Charlie; son, John Patrick; and sister, Rae Eaton. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 2 at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 Wayzata Blvd E, Wayzata, with visitation an hour before and reception to follow at the Wayzata American Legion, 949 Wayzata Blvd E. Sallys laugh and generous spirit will be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Florence Project, RAICES or Choice, Inc. are preferred.
