Sean Turnquist Obituary Turnquist, Sean Anthony
10/03/1960 12/22/2023
Sean Anthony Turnquist, a beloved son, brother and friend to many, passed away after a 3 year battle with leukemia.
The second son of Ed & Gloria Turnquist, Sean graduated from Wayzata High School in 1979 and from the University of Minnesota in 1984. He loved the outdoors plus the competition and camaraderie of all things sports, including fishing. Sean was a gifted high school athlete- playing varsity hockey, baseball and golf. He skated for the U.S. National team in the 1985 Bandy World Championships in Oslo, Norway.
In his late 20s Sean was stricken with Transverse Myelitis, ending his ability to run or skate. However, he never lost his positive attitude and felt he was blessed that he could do most of the things he enjoyed for another 30 years. He had a wonderful 37-year career in real estate, in which he enjoyed helping others, especially new home owners.
Seans faith and courage grew as his leukemia battle intensified. He considered his strengthening faith his most important accomplishment. Right up to the end he felt at peace through the presence of Jesus. He was grateful and humbled by the support of family and friends.
Sean is survived by his mother Gloria and his siblings and their children: Eric (wife Myrtle and children Ray and Hanna), Eddie (wife Marcia and children Macklin [Kala] and Amelia), Peter (wife Mary and son Tony [Hannah] and Tracy (children Sarah [Blane] with daughters Emma and Aspen and son Steven [Jasmine].
