Sue Murray Obituary Biography Age 76 of Wayzata, MN and Naples, FL, passed away August 7, 2015. Preceded in death by her mother, Helen Laird, and her sister, Nancy Sweeney. Sue was born May 2, 1939 in Elizabeth, New Jersey and grew up in Point Pleasant where she graduated high school. She attended the State College of New Jersey and graduated with a degree in Physical Education. She married Kenneth Richard Murray on August 24, 1961, and was a teacher for several years in Elizabeth, NJ, Toms River, NJ, and Cranford, NJ. In addition to New Jersey, Sue lived her life in Rhode Island, Ohio, Minnesota and Florida, and made lifelong friends in each place. Sue took a personal interest in everyone she met, finding each person's unique story and gifts. Sue was an amazing wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She was generous of her time and love, and unstoppable in her resolve to help those around her. She most enjoyed spending time catching-up on the lives of her family and friends on the phone, around a table, or at an event. She continues to inspire all who knew her with how she lived her life. She was always direct but positive above all else, fearlessness in the face of obstacles, and unstoppable in her resolve to help her family and friends to realize their dreams. Sue was also generous in sharing her time and energy through serving and supporting many charitable organizations that embodied her passion for helping others. Sue will be missed, held always close in our hearts, and will never be forgotten. Sue is survived by husband, Kenneth; daughters, Megan (Derek) Hayes and Margot (Eric) Olness; grandchildren, Alex Hayes, Linden Olness, Griffin Olness, and Fletcher Olness; and brothers, Donald Laird and Richard Laird. Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 AM Friday, August 14 at The Church of St Bartholomew, 630 Wayzata Blvd E, Wayzata, MN 55391. Visitation is 5:00 7:30 on Thursday, August 13 at the David Lee Funeral home, 1220 Wayzata Blvd East, Wayzata, MN 55391 and 1 hour before the Mass on Friday at church. If you wish to make a memorial, Sue was active in many great organizations including The Shelter for Abused Women and Children in Naples, The Abbott Northwestern Hospital Foundation, The Basilica of St. Mary, and Fraser.
