Suzanne Bangert Obituary
Bangert, Suzanne Tenner, The remarkable Suzanne Harper (Tenner) Bangert passed away on November 14th, 2009 the same way she lived her life -- courageously. She passed away in her home surrounded by her entire family after a year long battle with cancer. The honor of having known this motivational, strong, witty, devoted, and wonderfully accepting woman was the privilege of many. Suzy touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with, whether as a devoted mother, sister, friend, partner or colleague. Suzy was an Alumnus of the Convent of the Visitation and a graduate from the University of Minnesota with a Masters in Speech Pathology. She also earned an additional Masters in Psychology from the Adler Institute. She worked for thirty years at Hennepin County Corrections managing over 900 volunteers. She has been a committed citizen and advocate for the city of Wayzata serving on the Planning Commission from 1997-2000 and the City Council 2003-present. She was recently voted the Citizen of the Year for 2009. Suzy loved to entertain, read books, play bridge, take walks and spend time at her cabin in the north woods. She was an avid world traveler, with Africa being an especially treasured destination. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and countless friends. Suzy will be missed by many, but especially by her partner Andy Bond; daughters, Sarah (Elliott) Randolph and Bridget (Matthew) Lackie; siblings, Letty (Pat) Fitzgerald, Mary (Marnix) Guillaume, Bob (Debi) Tenner; three beautiful grandchildren, Harper and Elliott Randolph and Anderson Lackie; and eight nieces and nephews.The visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday November 19th followed by a Memorial Service at 12 noon at The Church of St. Bartholomew, 630 East Wayzata Blvd in Wayzata.
