Thomas Maxwell Obituary Maxwell, Thomas C. age 74 of Mound passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his home. Tom was born April 13, 1942 in Minneapolis. He was united in marriage with Sandra Piatt on December 7, 1963. In the early years, he worked with his family in their trucking company until they started Dial Casket in the early 90s. He also sold stationery to the funeral industry. Companies that Tom was a representative for included, Messenger, Rob-Win, and Regal Line. Tom moved his family to Mound, MN on Lake Minnetonka in 1972 where he enjoyed the lake life and golfing. He was a member of Burl Oaks Golf Club. Golfing became a family hobby which was passed down to his granddaughters, but the lake was his passion. Tom loved boating and fishing. He is survived by his loving wife Sandy of 53 years; his children, Dan Maxwell (Gwen) and Dodi Pysick (Jason); granddaughters, Miranda and Mackenzie Maxwell; grandniece, Megan Kleve and partner Karl Wawrzynick; brothers, Jerry Maxwell (Bonnie) and Bruce Maxwell (Stella); nieces and nephews; son-in-law, Mark Meuffels; longtime friend, Pete Petty, Glens wife Leslie Engle and everyone that called him Pa Max. Tom is preceded in death by his daughter, Dina Maxwell-Meuffels; mother, Marion Hegge, stepfather, Dan Hegge; father, Tom Maxwell, stepmother, Lorraine Maxwell and best friend, Glen Engle. Funeral service 12:00 PM Friday, March 10, 2017 at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis. Visitation 4-7 PM Thursday at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 East Wayzata Boulevard, Wayzata. Interment Lakewood Cemetery.
