Thomas Miller Obituary
Age 85, recently of Spring Park MN, formerly of Tucson AZ, passed away peacefully on July 27. Preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn, parents, step-mother, sister and two brothers. Survived by his wife, Lennie; sons, Kyle (Christine) and Kendall Miller; step-children and their families, the Thoriens, Meinens and Carmeins. Tom proudly graduated in the top of his class at West Point and was put on the cover of Parade Magazine in 1951. He had a 28-year career in the army, achieving the rank of Lt. Colonel. Much of his career was spent in Germany and he served two tours of Vietnam. He was known as a fine officer who rarely yelled and always got the best from his people. He was awarded many medals including Silver and Bronze Stars. Later he worked as a top salesman for Magnavox where he sold with integrity and knew the pros and cons of the facsimile product better than anyone.
Tom had a generous spirit, positive outlook on life and was an honorable, kind and caring man. Funeral service to be held at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E Wayzata Blvd in Wayzata on August 11th at a 11:00 am, with visitation 1-hour prior. Following the service there will be interment and the rendering of military funeral honors at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorial preferred to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
