Verla Bernards Obituary Verla Burdella Bernards (formerly Verla Burdella Arntz) passed away on December 2, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Darwin Bernards, and her brother, Aldo Arntz. She is survived by her sister, Arla Arntz Storbeck; her sons, Jay Bernards and wife Suzanne, Chuck Bernards and wife Donna; six grandchildren, Danielle, Kelly, Angela, Casey, Caitlin, Madeline and two great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Verla was born in Van Hook, ND on December 18, 1933 and was a dedicated member of Vision of Glory Church. She enjoyed sitting with friends & family on the dock of her cabin on Little Floyd Lake in Detroit Lakes, MN and loved playing cards. She was member of the Red Hat Club and enjoyed various trips to Europe. The celebration of Verlas life will be held at the David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E Wayzata Blvd in Wayzata, on Wednesday December 6 at 12 Noon with visitation at 11 AM. Reception to follow. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery.
