Obituary

Victor Stein Obituary Stein, Victor N. Sr. age 86 of Wayzata, MN, passed away on January 13, 2008 after complications from a stroke. Survived by beloved wife of 64 years, Dorothy; his children, Victor (Kathy) Stein Jr. of Brooklyn Park, Jenifer (Michael) Fortin of Littleton Colorado, Mary (Armand) Brachman of Long Lake, Richard (Martha) Stein of Hopkins, Joseph (Nancy) Stein of Plymouth and Michael Stein of Chaska; grandchildren, Lisa, Kate, Eric, Kristen and Mikayla; great- grandchildren, Jacob, Hayden, Gabe, Zoe and Haley; and sister, Jeanette Zachman of New Hope. As a lieutenant pilot, Victor was stationed at several east coast naval air stations engaged in antisubmarine patrols, surveillance, shipping escort duties, and merchant marine rescue operations. He raised 6 children while working hard to build his career in the printing industry founding numerous graphic arts service companies and becoming a leader in the industry. In 1975 he was elected into the honorary Ash Kahn Society. Victor had a passion for the outdoors and in the early 1950's moved his family from Minneapolis to Hamel MN where he built End-O-West Farm and developed his love for horses and the land. Victor later became a partner in a large cattle ranch in the Sheridan area of Wyoming and built a home on Piney Creek, in the foothills of the Big Horn Mountains. He was one of the founders of the Ucross Foundation, in Ucross WY and served as a trustee. Victor also was a founding member of the National Advisory Board to support the C.M. Russell Museum in Great Falls, MT. He was a cowboy at heart, making many friends and riding many miles with the Caballeros del Norte, Desert Caballeros and Charlie Russell Riders. We will miss him greatly, but he will be forever in our hearts. Happy trails to you Victor!
