Obituary

Virginia Lafferty Obituary Age 69 of Brooklyn Center, passed away on April 12, 2015. Virginia was born in Estherville, IA and grew up and attended elementary and high school in Mason City, IA. After attending Park College in Parkville, MO where she majored in Education, she married William Lafferty. They lived in Kansas for several years before eventually moving to their long time home in Deephaven, MN in 1974. Virginia worked as a teacher, most recently as a Pre-School Teacher for Peppermint Fence in Wayzata. She was also a long time member of PEO and member and supporter of the Girl Scouts of America. Virginia is preceded in death by her father and mother, Safford and Lena (Pals) Lock. She is survived by her daughters, Kristine (Gregg) Larson and Melinda (Mike) Bonfig, her four grandchildren, Charlie, Alex, Loren and Owen, who lovingly called her "Baba", one brother - Howard Lock, many friends, neighbors as well as hundreds of students whose lives she touched as an educator. A visitation is scheduled at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 18360 Minnetonka Blvd in Deephaven on THURSDAY, April 16 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and a funeral service will be held on FRIDAY, April 17 at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 E Wayzata Blvd in Wayzata at 11:00 a.m. followed immediately by the interment at Groveland Cemetery and reception at Spasso Restaurant in Mtka.
