Obituary

William Anderson II Obituary William Edwin Anderson, II On December 31, 2024, our dear Bill, a beloved son, brother, husband, father and grandfather was called to rest in the arms of Jesus after a short, intense battle with cancer. He leaves behind a legacy of family, friends and faith. Bill was born on May 5, 1967, in Aurora, CO to Dr. William Edwin & Bonnie Lou (Meek) Anderson. He was baptized in Aurora, CO. Growing up in Stuart, FL he was confirmed in the faith at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on April 12, 1981. An assignment of Christian Beliefs in his own handwriting is amongst family treasures. Bill attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN. His studies included Chemistry, Math and Russian. His researching skills were put to good use after obtaining his Juris Doctorate from Hamline Law School in St. Paul, MN. While interning at Vidas, Arrest and Steinkraus, PA he passed the patent bar a year ahead of schedule, and a career path of an intellectual property attorney began. He referred to himself as a science geek with a law degree. He found his element in his last position at Christensen, Fonder, Dardi & Herbert, PLLC. He met his wife Julie L. Myhre at Gustavus where he was on the swim team, and she was on the diving team. They married on October 27, 1990, in Bloomington, MN. During their 34 years of marriage, they were blessed with a daughter, son, son-in-law and a granddaughter, all whom he loved dearly. His childrens endeavors became his passions which included volleyball, rowing, art, raising chickens, basketball, rugby, auto projects and welding. Throughout his life, he enjoyed participating in sports especially golf, weight training, handball, racquetball, and an occasional softball game. He swam competitively from 8 years of age through his collegiate years at Gustavus, after which he hung up his Speedo because he "got tired of looking at the black line" on the bottom of the pool. He had too many interests to index, however, at the top of the list would be: storytelling of family memories and traditions, working in the yard, being a DYI enthusiast, a movie buff (who could recite various quotes which he wove into daily conversations), a tinkerer, a master level Sudoku player, and a card game winner. He loved a good pup and had the closest partner in Ben, his dog of 14 years; always at his side, with whom he often strolled the banks of Bear Lake in WI. Upon your first impression, you likely would face his stern look and imposing stature, which he held in silent observation, until he decided to let his charm, gift of gab, dry sense of humor and perhaps an unexpected goofy gesture disarm you. In all this, Bill was greater than the sum of his parts. He had a servants heart. He watched out for his neighbors, was confident in his faith, kept it forefront in his life and made no apologies for it. He felt privileged to be baptismal sponsor to his nephew, James and a family friends daughter, Katy. He loved digging deeper for knowledge and discourse in Scripture. He was dedicated to his church and the various roles he held along the way as council member, elder, usher and more. He proclaimed the Word of God, and the salvation found in Jesus in a clear voice even during his last days. Bill was preceded in death by this parents, Bill and Bonnie, and brother David. He is survived by his wife Julie, daughter Christina (Freddy) Galley, son Bill III, and granddaughter Genesis Galley, sisters Rebecca Morgan and Teresa (Malcolm) McNett, stepmother Patti Anderson, mother-in-law Donna J. Myhre, sister-in-law Melanie (Scott) Teer, brother-in-law Bruce Myhre, nephews Jon and James Morgan, Jacob and Max Teer. Bill would have requested that you celebrate life, cherish your loved ones, be quick to pick up the phone and connect with one another whether the distance near or far, support one another and praise God for all blessings this life has to offer.
