Obituary

William Waldron Obituary William Lovering Waldron, Jr. (Bill). Born June 20, 1929, Bill passed away peacefully June 17, 2005 , after a three and a half year struggle with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis often called Lou Gerhig's Disease). He was preceded in death by son, William L. Waldron, III, wife Sheila Strong Waldron, sister, Barbara Earling Bellows, and step grandson, Andrew Morrison Johnson. Bill graduated from Shattuck-St. Mary's School, Faribault, MN and was in the Princeton University Class of 1951. After school he served two years in the U.S. Army as Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery. One year was spent in Korea. Upon his return home, he began a thirty-three year career at Honeywell. He retired in 1984 from the Corporate Technology Center. Interested in education, he served on the first Board of The Highcroft Country Day School (now The Blake Schools). For years he pursued a favorite hobby of Upland Game hunting and Trap and Skeet shooting. He vacationed in Grand Cayman for 25 years where he specifically enjoyed scuba diving. For the past ten years, his passion was cruising worldwide. Some of his favorite places were Vietnam, China, South Africa and South America. He will always be remembered for his impeccable style and keen sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Helen Snyder Waldron, three daughters, Wendy Burton (Bryan Siltanen) of Herndon, VA, Luci Chorley (Michael) of Hamel, MN, Stacey Eastman (Patrick) of Minnetonka, MN, and four step children, Harry Johnson (Dana) and Sargent Johnson (Melissa) of Wayzata, MN, Steven Johnson (Elizabeth) of Detroit, MI and Anne Johnson deWeissenbruch (Gregory) of Brussels, BE; 5 grandchildren, Tyler, Alison & Adam Chorley, Maxwell & Sheila Eastman, and 9 step grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the caregivers from the Ridgeview Home Care and Hospice services. Special thanks to dedicated family friend andcaregiver, Betty Tabyanan and also to Becky Frederick and her devoted pool of nurses. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday June 23, 2005 at 3:00 PM at Lakewood Memorial Chapel, 36th and Hennepin. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the Greater West Humane Society (4375 Highway 55 SE, Buffalo, MN 55313), ALS Association, Minnesota Chapter (333 N. Washington Ave, Suite 105, Minneapolis, MN 55401) or to a charity of choice.
