Winifred Garvie Obituary Winifred C. Garvie of Wayzata was born January 31, 1929, passed May 5, 2021 at age 92. Preceded in death by husband, John; sister, Louise and brother, Robert. She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul (Jean), John (Patricia), Peter (Thea); 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. Born in Norwich, Connecticut, Winnie moved to Minneapolis in 1955, and has lived in Wayzata for the past 30 years. She worked for many years at the Childrens Shop, and then at Little-Cone in downtown Wayzata. Winnie was a straight-forward woman with a great sense of humor. She loved to laugh, always seeing the bright side of life. She loved music, traveling, gardening, and volunteering. She had a deep love of family, friends and church. Winnie will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. May 18, 2021 at the Church of St. Bartholomew, 630 East Wayzata Boulevard, Wayzata. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners.
