Bruce Anderson Obituary

Anderson, Bruce (66) of Maple Plain MN, left us suddenly on July 21. Born March 11, 1956, to Curtis and Patricia (Crose) Anderson in St. Cloud. Bruce grew up in Plymouth, MN and attended Wayzata schools WHS Class of ‘74. He earned a Law Enforcement Certificate at Alexandria Tech, served on forces in Osakis and Wabasha before returning to Wayzata, meeting his wife, Becky, and settling in Maple Plain. Bruce was proud to have served over 30 years on the Orono Police Department. After retiring he worked for 10 years at the Airport Police Department. However, his most brave and heroic job in retirement was teaching behind-the-wheel drivers ed for A+ Driving. Bruce had many hobbies including losing golf balls, watching MN sports teams lose (he would always tell about the time he was at the 1999 Vikings playoff game where Gary Anderson missed the field goal), and putting many miles on his Harley Davidson. He loved telling stories from his mischievous teen years and the crazy encounters from his many years in law enforcement. Bruce had a large circle of friends through all walks of life and always had a connection somewhere. He was always willing to help a friend in need. His pride and joy were his children and most importantly his grandchildren; always taking them out for breakfast, going to watch them in various sports, or just cuddling on the couch watching cartoons.

Preceded in death by parents Curt and Pat Anderson, in-laws Monty and Doris Sholund, infant son Jason.  Survived by wife Becky, son Ryan, daughter Julie (Peter) Eshenaur, bonus family Col. Bob (Tami) Corby, and Janel (Chad) Stocton. Grandchildren Ethan, Micah, and Abigail Eshenaur, Anthony Corby, and Aleena Stocton. Brother Scott (Nancy) Anderson and sister Sue (Ken) Iverson, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Bruce is also survived by his large family in blue.
