Blanchard, Carol Lee, took a step to her next journey on a snowy day in Minneapolis on March 23, 2022. The blanket of snow and the bareness of the trees on an early Spring day was the perfect closure of her time here and set the stage for her move to her next scene. Her spirit, love, creativity, and caring continues in her three children and seven grandchildren, as well as her extended family, close friends, and countless others she has loved. Many are blessed to have learned lessons from Carol (aka Mom, Nana, Neener). She kept life simple for herself and spent her time helping others. She worked for children in crisis, assisted mothers who wanted to rejoin their children, and spent countless hours helping her own kids and grandkids live a fulfilling life. Of her many traits, we will remember her most from her motto, “keep it simple, stupid” and passion for the perfect key lime pie recipe. Carol is survived by her children and grandchildren, John Bonner (wife Margo, children Jack and Colin), Emily Leach (husband Pat, children Michael, Jane and Matt) & Bob Bonner (wife Marj, children Ollie and Ella) and her sister, Shelley Weaver (aka Auntie Boo) (husband Dave, children Corey, Julie and Sarah). Carol is reunited with her parents, Robert and Janet Blanchard, who passed way too early in her life to see what an amazing person she turned out to be. Friends can visit with Carol’s family at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 East Wayzata Boulevard, Wayzata on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 2 PM with the celebration of her life starting at 3 PM. If you have it, wear a splash of lime green. In Carol’s memory, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery (crisisnursery.org/donate) or any charity that furthers her efforts to help those that need care and love in this world.
