Evelyn "Evie" Margit (Olsen) Williams

Evelyn Margit (Olsen) Williams, age 96, was born in Casper Wyoming and died peacefully 5/14/19 at York Gardens, Edina, MN. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Griffith H. Williams, daughter, Lynn and brothers, Robert, Arthur, and Harold Olsen.  She is survived by her loving children, Ann Garwick (Dave),  Janet Williams Hepler (Bill); grandchildren, Karen (Karl) Oberjohn and Kirsten (Michael) Childe and great-grandsons, Oliver and Charlie; sisters-in law, Ruth and Virginia Olsen, cousin, Doris Moehring and nieces and nephews.  Evelyn attended Augustana College and graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Music in voice and a minor in piano and organ. After college, she opened a voice and music studio and was a program manager for a classical radio program (KVOC) in Casper, Wyoming.  She shared her joy of music and her faith through singing and playing the organ at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Casper, Wyoming and in Great Falls, Montana and parishes in Minneapolis, MN.  She lived a life of gratitude and faith that was often expressed through music. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, June 14 at 11:00 am with visitation at 10:00 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 8400 France Ave. South, Bloomington, MN.  Interment Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Grace Hospice, Minneapolis, MN or the charity of your choice.
