Obituary

Gail Ann Gabbert, age 73 of Long Lake, Minnesota passed away peacefully in her

home with her family by her side on March 28, 2023 from an eight year battle with

Parkinson’s disease.

Gail was born on September 4, 1949 to parents, Frances & Clayton Ericson, in

Minneapolis, Minnesota. She graduated from Cooper High School in Robbinsdale,

Minnesota and then attended the University of Minnesota. Gail met her high school

sweetheart, David, in 1965 at a dance hall and they continued dancing throughout their

loving 52 year marriage.

Gail was fun and fabulous; a loving and devoted wife, mom, grandma (GG) and friend.

She will be best known for her love of people and her incredible gift to connect with

others almost instantly. In addition to bestowing friends and family with beautifully

wrapped gifts, Gail spread joy, laughter and love.

Gail was a dedicated volunteer to the Children’s Cancer Research Fund during their first

ten founding years, where she met some of her closest friends. She was also proud of

her contributions to the family businesses. In her younger years, Gail enjoyed tennis,

downhill skiing, and sailing with David. She absolutely loved golfing and lunching with

her friends and of course, shopping. Photography was another one of her passions;

Gail’s favorite subjects were flowers and her precious grandchildren. Gail felt very

fortunate to winter in southwest Florida for over twenty years with David. She had a lot

more love left to give, but was called from this life too early. She will be deeply missed

by many.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Clayton Ericson; her

mother-in-law, Lorraine Gabbert. Gail is survived by her devoted husband, David

Gabbert; daughters, Jennifer Willett (Brad) and Jill Gabbert (Joshua Bone); sisters, Jan

Wilson and Sue Ensign; father-in-law, Wallace Gabbert; grandchildren, Madeline, Abigail

and Jack Willett; Isabel and Stella Gabbert.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the following organizations in Gail's

memory: Children's Cancer Research Fund or Parkinson's Foundation

A private family service will be held, followed by a Celebration of Life at a later date.
