Gregory M. Schneider passed away suddenly on April 28, 2021. He was born in St. Paul, MN and was
raised on the East side of St. Paul. Greg was a veteran of the U. S. Army and worked as a civil engineer
for the MI Department of Transportation and most recently for the MN Department of Transportation. In his free time, he enjoyed many hobbies and activities including fishing, hunting, photography,
woodworking, auto mechanics and most especially cooking (and eating). He traveled extensively and
was an avid gardener. Greg is survived by fiancée, Kary Sweeney and seven siblings, William, Stephen (LaVonne), Susan
(Denny) Olson, James (Peg), Thomas (Phyllis), Richard (Kim), Theresa (Randy) Shimizu; in addition to many nieces and nephews. Preceded indeath by parents, Robert and Cecelia. Greg was seldom without a dog for a companion and had a special love for his last two, Annie and Zilly.
Memorial service is planned for family and close friends on May 12, 2021 at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 East Wayzata Boulevard, Wayzata from 3-6:30 p.m. Religious blessing at 3:00 with visitation to follow. Masks required. Celebration of life and interment at Fort Snelling will be held at a later date this summer. Memorials to Kary Sweeney.
