Loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Gwili left this world on March 6, 2021 at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by parents Cal and Verna, loving husband Gordon and sister Gwen. Survived by sons Scott and Whitney, grandchildren Angela and Charlie and stepsister Mary. Gwili’s love and devotion to helping people led her to pursue a career in nursing. She spent countless hours volunteering at the Methodist Hospital Cancer Center and served for many years as an active member of St. Martin’s Altar Guild. Gwili’s warm “Mama Bear” demeanor endeared her to her children, grandchildren and her many friends. Sons Scott and Whitney learned so much from her selflessness and this was evidenced by their loving care to ensure their mother’s safety and comfort at all times and especially during her final days. Gwili loved her time with “The Beach Girls” and her regular Friday lunches with special friends Bev and Kris. She also took great joy in planning and preparing appetizers that were always presented to family and friends on her beautiful silver trays. Gwili was a unique and special friend to all and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Due to Covid restrictions, a private funeral service will be held at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church. A Celebration of Gwili’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Martin’s By The Lake Episcopal Church in Minnetonka Beach or Methodist Hospital Cancer Center in St. Louis Park.
