Harold Haagensen Obituary

Age 81, of Wayzata, MN, passed away peacefully December 26, 2018.  Preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Esther (Gibson) Haagensen, and his sister, Loretta (Nick) Luppino. Survived by his loving longtime partner, Diana Carter, along with his children, Pam (Mark) Laventure and Mark (Tracie) Haagensen; his grandchildren, Samantha Laventure (Corey), Tommy Laventure (Kayla), Kellie Haagensen , Chloe Haagensen, and his sisters, Lois (Bill) Guntle and Marion (Don) Messenger.  He also had many loving nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.

Harry proudly served our country as a US Marine, after graduating from Mound High School (MN) in 1956.  He had a profound love for our country, and tremendous respect for the men and women who serve to protect it. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and would love to share stories of his time on the lakes, or in the beautiful, serene woods of northern Minnesota. Those days and experiences were precious to him, as were the people who shared them with him.  Harry also had a deep love of music and could easily dance the night away if given the opportunity.

After a longtime career working for Minnegasco in Minneapolis, Harry and Diana followed the warm sun to The Villages, Florida, where he fell in love with the community, and enjoyed countless hours with friends on the golf courses and bowling alleys.  He was always very proud to be a “Villager”.  Harry was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, neighbor and friend… and he will be deeply missed by all who truly knew him.
