Karan Ruth (Olson) Day-Banker

Day-Banker, Karan R, age 76, of Blaine, formerly of Minneapolis. Born July 27, 1944, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2020 due to complications with cancer. Survived by husband, Rullo Banker; children, Dan (Jeanne) Day; Susan (Joel) Schanke; grandchildren, Corey, Derek, Samantha & Andrew Day; numerous “fur” babies that gave her such unconditional love, and many more loving family members & friends.  She worked tirelessly for almost 30 years at the Calhoun Beach Club and was known as “Mama Calhoun”.  In her spare time, she loved to work in her gardens, go fishing, play cards, and spend time in the kitchen baking the sweetest of treats for everyone.  In her later years she enjoyed working with Suzie to “get out of the house”.  She loved to spend time with her pets and her grandkids when she could.  She was often referred to as “Mom” by those that knew her and visited the house often.  Karen’s kindness, compassion, & humor touched many.  She will be deeply missed. Visitation 11-1:30pm Saturday, September 19, 2020, and a short celebration of life prayer ceremony at 1:30pm at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 East Wayzata Blvd, Wayzata, MN 55391.  Memorials may be directed to the family to be distributed at a later date.
