Laurel (Laurie) Ann Forshee, 66 of Woodland, MN, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully at home in her sleep on October 30th, 2022. Laurie was the heart of her family and is survived by her loving husband, John Forshee; daughters, Rachel Miller (Doug), and Ashley Christian (Stephen); stepsons, Jeff Forshee (Brittany) and John Forshee; her beloved grandbabies, Duke, Etta, Deacon, Cooper, and Everett and dog grandbabies, Willow, and Moose; as well as her sister, Carol Rovick (Roger) and brother, Keith Tjornhom (Bette) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved.
Laurie was magic. She lived a life full of laughter, adventure, creativity, and compassion. Laurie was a force of love and strength as she raised her two daughters, whom she was so proud of. Laurie found her calling as an elementary school teacher for 34 dedicated years and was a fierce advocate for all that needed one. Laurie loved entertaining and bringing people together. You could often find her on the boat with her grandbabies or in her ‘fort’ in the backyard under the twinkle lights, enjoying good music and the company of friends and family.
Family, friends, and others whose lives were touched by Laurie are invited to a Celebration of Life at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, 3675 Arboretum Dr, Chaska, MN 55318, from 1-4pm on Monday, December 19, 2022, to reminisce, grieve, laugh, eat, and dance under the twinkle lights.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to www.thebirthdayproject.org, to provide birthday parties for children experiencing homelessness.
