Lester Palmer Obituary

Lester Palmer

1935 – 2021
A Life Well Lived
His love of the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, was only surpassed by the love of his family.  His three children and six grandchildren were the apples of his eye.  He exuded pride in all their accomplishments.  He was filled with gratitude in being blessed with a loving family, which includes his late wife Alie, who passed in 2004.

He is survived by his children;  oldest daughter Mary (married to Steve for 35 years) and their kids Max (married to Kayla) and Jack; oldest son, Mark  (married to Terrie for 10 years) and his kids Eric and Amanda (married to Ryan and expecting their first child, a girl to be named Alie) and youngest son,  Scott (married to  Lily for 26 years) and  two sons Nicolas and Charlie; brother, Jerry ( and his wife Sharon) and sister Sandra ( and her husband John) and all the nephews and nieces that were lucky to call him Uncle Lester!

He also had a love for business and entrepreneurship.  Like most entrepreneurs, he started small and worked his way up.  Trained as a barber, his first business was Les’s Barber Shop in Crystal, Mn. followed by ownership in multiple hair salons and a billiards hall.  But his real business passion was ignited in 1971 when he and his late wife, Alie started their Shaklee distributorship.  His Shaklee family was like a second family to him.

No place on earth however, captured his imagination more than his favorite sanctuary, the sparkling blue water of Lake Mille Lacs in northern Minnesota.  An avid hunter and fisherman, he not only loved to chase the native walleye pike but also cherished the opportunity to host countless visitors and show them his favorite fishing techniques and hot spots.  The family cabin was a perfect meeting spot for the children, grandchildren, relatives and all their friends to congregate and enjoy backyard BBQ’s, boating, water skiing and every game you can imagine.

In the end, we are most grateful for the lessons he taught us;  live your life to the fullest, have passion in the things you love, inspire others to greatness, shoot for the stars, be adventurous, laugh, have fun, and most of all love your family.  Rest in Peace Dad.
