Margaret "Peggy" Schwarz Obituary


Age 87, of Deephaven died peacefully on February 17, 2020 at the home she and her husband designed and built 55 years ago. Peggy earned a Home Economics degree from the U. of Illinois. She then became a strong advocate for Women's rights. 


She served as the 1st Woman President of YWCA and was the 1st Woman in MN to be granted a contractor license. She went on to own and operate Conlin Schwarz Homebuilders and Roos-Frick Construction. An avid bridge player, a spirited golf player, and a lover of the Minnesota Orchestra. She spent her time reading, cooking, traveling, and many summers at the beloved Madeline Island. 

Preceded in death by husband, Dick; parents, Jack & Wilhelmina Conlin; siblings, Barbara (Dann) Wood & Robert (Claire) Conlin. Remembered for her tenacious spirit and quick wit by her family and friends, children, Maggie & Kurt (Sally); grandchildren, Andrew (Jeni) Kropp, Adam (Kendra) Kropp, Ella (Judson) McKown & Jack Schwarz; great grandchildren, Damian, Mya, Evelyn & Hadley. 

Memorial service Friday, February 28 11AM at Wayzata Community Church, 125 Wayzata Blvd East. Visitation at church one hour before service.
