Nick blessed this world 38 years ago. He will be forever remembered as a kind and gentle soul. Each person who crossed his path, was touched by his willingness to listen, and to help. Nick loved his family, and it was a large family. He was born in Damariscotta, Maine, in the hospital where his mother worked, delivered with his grandmother by her side. His maternal grandparents, surviving Millie and predeceased Dick Reid, helped mold him into the gentlemen he became. He was predeceased by Betty and Dick Dennison on his father’s side. His mother, surviving Cassandra Van Wickler, and father, surviving George Dennison raised him and his surviving siblings, Tyler Dennison (wife Emily), Samantha Dennison (Husband, Charlie), and Mackenzie Dennison (partner, Brent Currier) in Chichester, NH. Here Nick excelled in sports, especially baseball as a pitcher in the All-Stars, soccer, karate, hockey and basketball.
After attending Bishop Brady, Nick moved with the family to Braintree Massachusetts, where he learned to become a heavy equipment operator and paving contractor. Here Nick lived with his mother and step-father, Bruce Fabiano, and younger sisters, Alexandria Fabiano and Isabella Fabiano. Nick was the best big brother and always took the time to tease his younger sisters.
Nick was the best man at his brother Tyler’s wedding, but most would say, he was always the best man.
As life progressed, Nick had a passion for continuing education and enrolled in Linesmen school in Texas, where he became a linesmen apprentice. This was another trait Nick mastered and enjoyed.
Along that journey he met a woman that swept him off his feet, became his loving wife and mother of his two children, his precious son, Gavin Reid Dennison who he is now reunited with and his adoring daughter, Charlie Grace Dennison. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kristin (Peterson) Dennison.
Nick’s career took him to Xcel Energy, where he led a team and operated equipment in Minnesota for this union run company.. He was respected and admired with all the people he worked with in the company. He made strong friendships within this company and will be missed on the job.
Nick is survived by his step-father, Douglas Van Wickler, godparents; Aunt, Terri and Buzz Benner, cousins; Stephanie Vincentson (husband, Todd), Matthew Benner (wife, Leah), Joseph Benner, Robert Benner, Thomas Benner and pre-deceased, Christopher Benner. Nick is survived by uncle, Rick Reid (wife Judy), cousins, Dick (wife Anya), Abby Avantaggio (husband August); uncle Van Reid (wife Maggie), Hunter Reid and Mary Reid; parents-in-law, Prudence Elizabeth and Larry Allen Peterson.
Some special nieces and nephews who will miss their uncle are, Gabriel Krakofsky, Cire Currier, and Otis Steen.
We remember Nick is the person who loves, avoids the spotlight, helps others, cares, sacrifices and remains loyal to a fault.
This world was a better place with Nicholas in it, and will be a sadder place with out him here on earth.
A celebration of Nicholas’ life will be held on Wednesday April 7 at 7pm at David Lee Funeral Home, 1220 Wayzata Blvd East in Wayzata.
