Philip Morris Rodberg – 84 ‘Bud’ passed away peacefully on November 8, 2021.
Phil was born October 23, 1937 in Shaw, Minnesota to Olaf and Ethel Rodberg. He graduated from Cotton High School in 1955. He married the love of his life, Janice Rae Twining in 1960. During the early years of their marriage, they lived in Duluth and Winona. In 1971 they moved to Plymouth, Minnesota.
Jan and Phil enjoyed their home of 50 years, and trips to the cabin in Shaw. In their retirement years together, they delighted in spending time with family, neighbors and lifelong friends.
Philip was preceded in death by his beloved Jan in 2014, and siblings, John (Ed) Rodberg and Margaret Oliver Price. Phil is survived by sons, Glen (Honey) and Craig (Vera); daughter, Kim Akey (Rob); two grandchildren, Grant Rodberg and Josie (Akey) Heinrichs (Jeffrey); great-grandson, Bodhi Heinrichs; siblings, Pat Koski, Bonny Turnboom, Judy Lund, Olly West and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at David Lee Funeral Home on Friday, November 19th at 2 pm, funeral at 3 pm, with a gathering of friends and family at the Rodberg home afterward. Phil will be buried at the Shaw Cemetery in 2022. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Shaw Cemetery Maintenance Fund.
