Richard "Dick" Remde Obituary

Richard (Dick) Remde, 82, of Wayzata went to his heavenly home on November 2, 2021, surrounded by family. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sandra Remde, sons Kevin (Nancy) Remde, Paul (Renee) Remde, Carl (Danielle Perugini) Remde, and grandchildren Joao, Joe, Andy, Amy, Laura, Adam (Paige), Elle (Ian), and Sara.

Dick was a Lieutenant in the US Air Force Strategic Air Command in the early 1960's and was active during the Cuban Missile Crisis. In 1965, he and Sandy moved to Minnesota, where he went to work for General Mills as a Mechanical Engineer and served until his retirement in 1999. He was affectionately known by his grandchildren as "The man who punched holes in Cheerios." Dick served in several leadership roles at Golden Valley Lutheran Church. He also enjoyed racing sailboats on Medicine Lake, building highly detailed scale model sailboats, singing baritone in the church choir, and the occasional cross-stitch project for his grandchildren.
