URBAN, Robert Charles (“Bob”) of Plymouth, age 86, passed away during the morning of April 17, 2020. Preceded in death by his wife Dotty (who passed away in 2014), he is survived by his two sons, Rob (his wife Delfina) and Jeff (his wife Dolores); his four grandchildren, Andrew, Sophie, Dominique and Robbie; his sister, Dottie Ploucher; and other loving relatives and dear friends. Bob was the younger of two children born to Carl and Mae Urban in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Bob graduated from Penn State University where he was a member of the varsity football team. Bob also served in the U.S. Army as a computer programmer for the Office of the Judge Advocate General stationed at the Pentagon. Bob moved to Minnetonka, Minnesota in 1967 with his wife Dotty and two year old son, Rob, for a job opportunity with the Control Data Corporation. A lifelong entrepreneur, volunteer coach, promoter of amateur athletics and advocate for our parks and neighborhood athletic fields, Bob’s support and influence for his children, grandchildren, and friends in the community in their athletic endeavors was immeasurable. Although the extraordinary circumstances of our time prevent us from gathering together, his family hopes that the months ahead will allow for a celebration of his life well-lived. In the meantime, memorials may be directed to Bennett Family Park, Inc. – PO Box 1235, Minnetonka, MN 55345.
