Scott Lecy Obituary

Scott Kermit Lecy

Age 65 of Otsego, MN passed away peacefully at his home Monday January 29th 2024.  This happened to the sound of his mother's voice reading him a poem as if reading him a bedtime story with his wife Kathy, daughter, Angela and son, Jerry at his side.

Scott was born on May 26th, 1958 in Saint Paul, Minnesota to Arfield Lecy and Beverly (Mortimer) Lecy.  Scott grew up in Lakeville, Minnesota where he met the love of his life, Kathy Kelley.  They had a brief high school romance before their paths would take them in different directions.  However as the good Lord would have it their paths again intersected.  The spark that was once there still burned and soon their romance was rekindled.  On February 1st 1996 Scott and Kathy were married.  This blended their families giving them 5 teenaged children between the pair.  Though the teenage years were very trying times Scott continued to try to fill the kids with the word of the Lord to help them on their journey to adulthood.  Scott watched with pride as he saw his children growing into well rounded adults that had started their own families.  He did this despite the trials and tribulations that the kids experienced.  He was always there to encourage and support in the "Scott way" his kids will understand this one.

Scott loved to spend time with his family no matter what they were doing.  Some of those things included spending time hanging out by the pool at the hotel or sitting by a nice warm campfire while RVing, he also enjoyed going out to dinner and birthday parties and long as he wasn't being tripped.  Just another one of Scott's meny inside jokes.  Scott especially enjoyed the time that he got to spend with his grandchildren.  They were always his pride and joy no matter what they were doing or saying.

Oh I almost forgot Scott wanted me to tell you all "I told you I was sick"

Scott is survived by his wife, Kathy Lecy; mother, Beverly (Mortimer) Lecy; sister, Jayne Lecy (David Brichacek); brother, David (Jackie) Lecy; daughter, Angela Hastreiter (Mark Harrington); sons, Jerry (Tina) Lecy, Fletcher Jenson (Vernon Jr Kinneman), Travis (Valerie) Jenson, and Benjamin Jenson.  Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Bill and Michael (Leah) Kelley.  Scott is preceded in death by father, Arfield Lecy and his grandparents; Father-in-law, Bennett Kelley
