Susan Tenney Sellwood died, surrounded by friends and family, on April 25, 2022 in Naples, Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents, Patricia Hill Tenney and William Leonard Tenney. She is survived by her husband, Brooks Sellwood, two children, Thomas and Andrew Whitworth, her brother David Tenney and wife Katherine, and two sisters, Katherine Stevenson and Elizabeth Hancock. In addition, she has many beloved nieces and nephews.
Susan attended Northrop Collegiate School, Miss Porters School, and The American School in Switzerland. She graduated from Macalester College with a BA and Carlson School of Management with an MBA. Susan also attended Hennepin Technical College and earned a degree in small engine and outboard motor repair. Her rolling mechanic’s tool box is, unsurprisingly, hot pink.
Susan was an extremely active and energetic person. She loved shopping and all things pink. She loved sports, especially golf, tennis, and pickleball. She adored boating on Lake Minnetonka. Susan also served as President of the Land-O-Lakes chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society.
A service and celebration for Susan will take place at the Lafayette Club, May 13th at 4pm. There will be a private interment for family and close friends earlier that day. Memorials may be directed to Lake Minnetonka Sailing School, The Naples Community Hospital-Oncology Department, or the donor’s choice.
