Virginia Esther Johnson
February 11, 1937 – September 15, 2020
A graveside service will be held September 21 at 11a.m. Lake Auburn Moravian Cemetery Officiated by Pastor Rebecca Wold Freeman, Mount Olivet Lutheran Church.
Ginny died peacefully at her home after a brief illness. Brighton Hospice and Pillars of Shorewood Landing Senior Living Community helped her to complete her journey.
Ginny was born in Miltona Township, MN, to Otto and Alvina (Beyer) Weber. She was the youngest of five daughters.
Ginny graduated from Alexandria High School. She then moved to Minneapolis where she met Elton Johnson and was married September 21, 1957. Together they had four children: Cynthia (Al) Thom, Breck (Marlie), Kevin (Jackie), and Brian (Wendy). They raised their four children in the garden spot of Minnesota – St. Louis Park. Ginny taught her children to be independent and responsible. They learned well.
Ginny was blessed with ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She enjoyed family gatherings around the holidays, including her birthday. She loved to catch-up on her family members’ lives and enjoy a feast. She quietly took attendance and would wonder what would be so important for those who were not there.
So come tomorrow A flower in bloom, a book worth sharing, a bird at the feeder, a Christmas cookie to savor or a dance with your love - mom’s smile is there.
Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings. Rest in Peace
