Warren Docherty

of Orono, MN Born 7-14-1942 & passed on November 4, 2020.

It is with great sadness that we share the loss of our beloved, Warren, loving & caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. During his 10year battle with Lewy Body Dementia with Parkinson’s, he always remained positive often flashing that irresistible smile!  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Foster & Ethel Docherty, sisters Susan & Donna Docherty.  He leaves behind his loving wife Mary, son David (Kelly) Docherty, grandsons Foster & Maxwell Docherty, Daughters Karen (Mark Gonzalez) Docherty & Beth Docherty, brother Neil (June) Docherty, sisters Dianna Stalberger, Doris (Chub) Schmeig, x-wife Myrna Docherty and many nephews & nieces and dear friends.     

Warren worked in retail most of his life, first as a buyer and then in management for Dayton’s and Marshall Field’s department stores for over 20 years, and eventually owning his own stores, Expressions Custom Furniture.  After retiring he cherished wintering in FL for the past 14 years. 

Warren was an athlete.  He earned a scholarship to play basketball for St Cloud State where he graduated with a double major.  He enjoyed being outside walking & biking but his true love was Golf!  He landed a “hole in one” on both the MN and FL courses where he regularly golfed.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at Trails of Orono for their loving & compassionate care of Warren. A special thank you also to Park Nicollet Hospice for all their kind support & comfort care for Warren. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers. 

The family is tentatively planning to have a memorial service followed by a reception on Warren's birthday, July 14, 2021.
